About Me
I’m Joy van Haelen — a Dutch car enthusiast with a soft spot for old metal and a stubborn streak that keeps me turning wrenches until the job is done (or at least until it’s coffee time).
My love for cars isn’t just about driving them — it’s about breathing life back into machines that have seen better days. One weekend you might find me under the hood, hands covered in grease; the next, I’m stitching up a worn interior or striking sparks with a welding torch. Every step — from the first bolt loosened to the final polish — is part of the adventure.
I’m not a trained mechanic. Every skill I have, I’ve learned the slow, messy, and deeply satisfying way: by doing. And while I wouldn’t claim to be the best in the business, I’ll proudly say I’m having the most fun figuring it all out.
Here on my blog, I share the stories behind my project cars — the small victories, the occasional disasters, and everything in between — as a companion to my YouTube channel. So grab a coffee, pull up a chair, and let’s talk cars.
